Clutch Cable Adjustment?

My '70T shifts fine most of the time with no unusual grinding noises even going into first and reverse. This is when the car is just started and/or run for a short period. On longer rides, I do notice that first is harder to engage quietly and reverse makes noticeable grinding. After the car is cooled down, all is fine again. Could the clutch cable be expanding beyond where it should after running and it gets hotter? If I am not out of adjustment range, could I bring this in?
