Message from Leland

I emailed Lee earlier to check on him and this was the response.

Quote:
Hey Mark,
I just got back from Tennessee yesterday. I was home for 4 weeks to be with my father. He doesn't have a whole lot of time left so I decided to go home to be with him while I still could. I am suffering from Porsche withdrawls. The Z car is nice but it doesn't quite fill the hole. I do have some good news to pass along... I somehow managed to get accepted to the Air Force OSI Academy. I leave Idaho on 6 June to go to Glynco, GA for about 4 months. Since this job will require me to reenlist, I'm already plotting to spend my bonus money on another 911.
Erin is prepared for the inevitable... I will have another 911... I can't get on the board from work (damn filters) so I've forwarded this email to my home account so i'll check it out tonight when I get home. I don't get online at the house much anymore simply because our connection speed is around 24Kbs and it drives me absolutely nuts waiting for pages to load.

It was good to hear from you though, please do me a favor and give the rest of the crew my absolute best regards.

Take care,
Leland, the traitor
Prayers for his Dad,
Mark

I knew he would be back. I am wishing the best for his father.
I wonder if he will buy an SC. That would be a good poll.

Is he still available at his Yahoo address? I'd like to wish him the best and indeed prayers for his father.

Not at all surprised he misses his Porsche. They are the harsh mistresses that never seem to let go...

I may have a way around the "filters". If you/he is interested let me know. It worked for a friend who worked at "one of those places"

I am glad to hear he is well and spending time with his Pops.. that is cool!
those are times he'll never forget!
I wouls be willing to bet money on the fact Lee won't get am SC he'll but a Carrera this time of something bigger.. maybe a 993 or somthing..
what do you guys think..
I say 993..
or a Carrera, but no SC he has had one before and it's time to try another model.

I am glad he will be back.
Soon to be Lt. Leland.. has a nice ring to it..

I'm pleased to hear Lee's made a decision on his career. I thought he didn't want to work for Uncle Sam any more, (which would be their loss) so I'm pleased to hear he's been accepted into OSI.

I'm glad he's doing well.

Mark, thanks for passing this on. Glad to hear Lee is okay, and spending time with his parents. I think it'll be interesting to see which 911 replaces his SC. And to think, before too long, he'll be able to hang out in an officer's club with "Face" and RJ! Lee, if you read this, remember...should you ever get this way, you have a date with a green 911...

I will think good thoughts for Lee's father.

Lee can buy my car, stay with the SCWDP and get the coupe the wants. There is a certain symmetry to that I think.

Glad to hear he is well and has his priorities well established. Having lost my Dad in February, I for one know you can never spend enough quality time with family.
Of course the new car would be an SC, none other would do...

Hello Gang,

First of all I'd like to thank you all for the kind words concerning my father. I wish every one of you could know him. I can't even begin to describe how great he really is. I've never been prouder of anyone in my entire life.

As I told Mark, I don't get online much here at the house simply because the speed is soooo slooooow... I'll be moving before too long and perhaps be even lucky enough to move up to one of those crazy DLS/Cable modem type things we can't even get out here.

I'm very excited about the OSI bit. Just to clarify though, I'm not recieving a commission. OSI, for lack of a better description is bascically like the Military's FBI. They do everything from Criminal Investigation to Counter Terrorism. I will be a badge tottin' Federally accredited Special Agent though... which will go along very nice with the inevitable rebirth of the "plot".

I hope Waynes business is thriving, Jacks car is churning asphalt, every MFI car is suffering a horrible death, SC's are still ruling the world in all respects and that each and every one of my Pelican bretheren are doing well.

I'll have to get around to doing a little bit of a write-up on what i think about the 350 Z.

I've all but given up on the online Z Community.... "yo yo, bling bling, check out my dub-duces, lets go street race and brag like a bunch of 8 year olds watching their dad participate at a local bowling league face-off".

Lee? Do I detect a bit of regret about going to the true "dark side"? Regardless of your future automotive obsesssions, please hang on to the early Buick. Your Dad is a man of automotive taste. You can tell him I said that.

THIS: "I hope Waynes business is thriving, Jacks car is churning asphalt, every MFI car is suffering a horrible death,"... we gotta talk about...
