Help need on adjustment springplates
 

I have made the adjustment to the springplates as shown in the picture. What I am having trouble is the current adjustment in the picture actually makes the car lower. Isn't this suppose to make it ride higher? Has anyone made this adjustment to the springplates?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploads/help1.jpg

When the adjuster goes down the plate goes up which means the car comes down. Another words the car goes in the same direction as the adjuster. This of course is opposite to indexing the spring plates.

You mean I have made the adjustment in the wrong direction? If so what is the procedure to get the adjustment to go the other direction. I attempted to change the direction but it appears the adjustment does not want to go any other direction other than down.

Yes wrong direction. Disconnect the shock at the control arm and leave it disconnected until you have acheived the desired adjustment.

I actually had the rear shocks off when I did mine. The car just needs to be backed out of the garage and then back in.

I'll be on for a while if you want to give it a try.

I did remove the shock and used the thin 36MM wrench and adjusted all the way in the other direction. I am at the end of adjustment and I did mark the spot where I started and I am not much more than that orginal position. I just got finished changing the bushing and re-indexing the torsion bars. If I can't get the 25 inches I will end up going back to the torsion bars again. :(

Don't feel bad . . . when I did Richards Sway-a-ways the fender lip was 6" above the tire . . . . needless to say they had to be re-indexed

Don't forget to set the adjuster in the middle and tighten it before re-indexing !!!!!

I will make sure they are in the middle. If I would have done that prior to re-indexing the torsion bars, perhaps I would have gotten the extra inche upward. As they say" the first hundred are the hardest"

How high can you get the car without reindexing the torsion bars?

Just max out the height so they are equal on both sides. Stupid question, but how long have you been playing with your rear suspension? If it has been a long time, are rear tire pressures up to spec? You might get a little more height if they end up under inflated.

I have the adjustment all the way up. I am going to put the tires on tonight and see where the car sits. I have to say the marks where I started is not much different than where I am sitting at the moment. My mistake was when I re indexed the torsion bars I didn't put the adjustment on the spring plates in the middle.
