Oil sender leak ?

Ok. I replaced the triangle of death items years ago..i noticed that oil is leaking from under the oil sender where the adapter screws into the case..can I just unscrew it from the block or is this a problem to do..is there a crush seal under it. Or should I just try and tighten it a little more 🤔..im afraid of stripping the case.
Thanks for your inputs

There is a seal. You should be able to gently tighten it a little. If you have to replace, it is pretty straight forward. This is what the part looks like (simple threaded) in the car=talog:

unscrew. new crush washer required.
never re-tighten or re-use used crush washers!

it is alas a too common failure. even newly installed senders leak.
either leak by themselves (most compound glue the sender body prior to install) or the crush washer leaks.

I know a few guys that block that bore and install the sender elsewhere.

While your in there, it's been suggested that a bead of JB Weld
on the oil pressure switch as a preventative cure for a very common leak area.
Found this photo in search. Shows exactly where the JB Weld goes.

New switch arrives this week, should I do this, or is this to repair an existing one?

Seal up the new switch too with JB Weld to prevent future leaks.
