Need help asap, steering rack guard and sway bar issues
Im in the middle of the Classic Retrofit install, popped off the steering rack protector to run the ac lines under the car into the smugglers and when the nut came off it just popped apart. Cant figure out how to get it back together the front screw is sitting on an angle and the back is ways away. Ive tried to gently use a jack, it comes close but no cigar, any rock stars out there who can throw me a tip or two asap?

loosen the other fasteners; put it up flat w/o jamming one side on all the way
tighten it all up after you get things started |
car needs to be on the ground - [not jacked up]..

It's hard to see how you have the car jacked up. But since the swaybar is connected to this bracket, if the front is jacked on one side of the car, there could be a lot of force being exerted through the swaybar while it's up in the air. and pulling the bracket like you're seeing. Can you put it up on jackstands to relieve the force on the swaybar?

Place the car on a car ramp........

You will have a difficult time bolting the back the steel protective shield back if the car is jacked up. Either put the car on the ground or drive the car on a car ramp to install the shield back with ease. Tony |
Thanks everyone for the tips, very useful, first 911 and I'm learning as I go, I was able to get it back on. Appreciate this community a ton.
