Rust Experience??
Anybody have experience repairing rust at the corners of the windshield - see photo? This is on a car I am looking at and seems to be a common area of rust. The remainder of the car is solid.

What year 911. It is one of the more common rust areas. To do it right you need to remove the windshield and weather strip because you will find a lot more rust under the weatherstrip.

The car look like it's a pre-1977, the rust appears to be pretty extensive. Like Kurt says the windshield has to come out and the windshield seal channel and flange inspected. With the visible rust bubbling as much as it is shown in your picture, what is not seen could be much worse.

Yup, I've got major experience with that one. What you need to know? Fender has to come off along with windshield if the repair panel is used, and it means some cutting, welding and paintwork. The worst rust is likely hidden under the windshield gasket. Patch panels are available from www.restoration-design.com.
Yours looks like a bad case, there may be some rust along the fender flange as well. Check my page for more information on this repair or post questions. http://www.pelicanparts.com/MotorCity/WintersRS/garage/projectrea2d.htm http://www.pelicanparts.com/MotorCity/WintersRS/garage/projectrea2e.htm |

My '86 just had its windshield done and there was an extremely small spot under the seal. They cleaned it up before putting back together - but it looks like that spot starts under the seal.
