hahaha...don't waste your money on a PPI on a car from them...but who know you may run across a nice car...but chances are it is held together with gum
torrance -- Callas Rennsport ($$$$$) North Hollywood -- TRE automotive (good guys) Marina del Rey -- precision automotive ?? (it is the guy wayne recomends. I've met him...really nice guy...haven't done work down there...and I am not sure if that is the right name...search the archieves) Venice -- Otto's (quite a character....heard good things) |
I took my car to Callas Rennsport in Torrance. They did a thorough inspection which I was happy with..

I am not related to CK are these statements our of personal experience or just word of mouth? If they are bad, please give a little more detail. |
when I was looking for my 911 I stopped by there...I had a minimal 911 knowledge, but I knew they were blowing sunshin up my butt and their cars are crappy 911's they buy, do a quick once over to make it look cosmetically pleasing and charge an arm and a leg...the internals are never looked at...
yeah callas does great work...pretty much his clientele is for those who sign the invoices without looking at the price...I stopped going after donating a pretty penny to the Callas Fund... I'd say TRE is the most friend to the types of people on this board... |
Alex at Precision Tech is literally across the street from there (phone 822-4566). Tony's great too, but he is quite far away from their location...
With respect to the comments from Tony - Most people who use Tony do not go to anyone else. He is the kind of guy that is too much of a perfectionist, it probably hurts him in the long run. He has tight control over everything at the shop, and believes in doing everything correct. If the clutch job was $2500, you can guarantee that everything that needs to be done and replace would be done, in particular things that need to be replaced/fixed on the engine while it's out. I've never met *anyone* who wasn't happy with his work, ever. He's factory-trained, and has been chief mechanic for a bunch of factory race teams. You want the best, you go to Tony. He's expensive, but you do get what you pay for. -Wayne |
