recent positive car shipping experience/recommendation

Hey guys -

I am going to be shipping a car from Ohio to San Diego. Just looking for recommendations. Open trailer. Not a concours car.

Thanks in advance for any useful info or referrals.

Best,

David

I 'll always have good things to say about TFX.

They too are enclosed.

David, I used Enclosed Vehicle Transport about a month ago. Kevin Dudley, owner, answers the phone. PA to TX. Extremely professional. 888 827 6799

I brought mine from Sask. to Toronto via Hansens. They operate on both sides of the border and have both enclosed and open trailers. They do a lot of auto transport for the moving industry. Half price and twice as fast as the quote I got from U-Ship. I used to work in the moving industry and we moved cars in trailers that werent full. You may want to call your local United or Allied mover and see if they still do that. A driver with a deadline and a half full trailer could be very negotiable. Im not sure how many people are still moving cross country thanks to covid but worth asking.

I’ve never shipped a car on an open trailer, but I’ve heard they get the crap beat out of them, especially if it’s a lot of miles.

Agree with above statements on open trailers. The potential cost for fixing any damage could far exceed the cost “savings” of going enclosed, especially the distance you’re shipping.

Plycar is very professional, enclosed transport. Knows how to handle sports cars. You will pay for it, though.

I shipped a 911 from Seattle to Santa Barbara on one of those open rig, best bid deals. Every aspect of it got screwed up. Even had to go to Goleta to get it.

Plycar shipped a Lotus Elise from Memphis, TN to my house no problem. Probably looking at $1800-$2000.
