Door stay questions

I have seen the door stay replacement kit and the numerous messages on here regarding the door stays. However, all the issue I've seen seem to be when pulling aware from the door itself.

I seem to have the opposite issue where the door stay has pulled away from the chassis on the driver side and is completely separated. I'm confused what the right way is to fix this is.

* Even with the separation on the chassis side, will this kit still work for me ?
* Do I need to find someone to do any welding to make this fix permanent ?
* In order to fix on the chassis side, do I need to remove the drivers side fender first ?

The door stay kit will not work for this damage.

Thanks, do you know if I remove the front fender, will that give access to the back side of the door post ?

Yep, likely some custom fabrication sanding and welding a plate for support. Then paint and replacement parts. Not a real big deal but it won't get better by ignoring it. Might want to take a look at the other side while you are at it.
