Steel synchronizers are a standard upgrade for longer synchro life over the brass version, but don't expect a magical quick-shift transformation.

I was told that for a street car steel synchros are a waste of money. For a track car they are a good idea

I tend to agree, but I suppose it depends on how you drive. New brass synchros will perform the same as new steel syncros, but the steel ones will last longer in "unsympathetic conditions".

Hey Ron,
Are you worried about shifting fast? Have you driven with a G50 box? I don't think you can shift faster with steel. I think you can beat on steel longer. That's all.
