starting issues

I finally had a chance over the weekend to hook up a CIS gauge to the car. My control pressure was too high when cold (4 bar when it should be 2.7 +/- .2), but system pressure was 6.0 bar. The manual states 6.0-6.7 bar. Through the adjustable WUR I obtained 2.9 bar for the control pressure. When starting cold, it starts much better than it did, but the idle is still low until warm (around 3-500 RPM). We went out and the car was fully warmed up when we shut it off for about 3-4 hours. When I came back to it, it didn't even try to start for a while (several tries at cranking for 10-15 secs). It was turning over quickly, but not firing at all. It finally coughed with me pumping the accelerator. Could this be the AAV? I took it off when I was messing with the WUR and stuck it in the freezer. It didn't seem to open more than it already was which was about halfway. Sorry this is so long, but I don't want to needlessly replace parts. Any insight is greatly appreciated!

Those freezing temps are not part of your problem currently, so as long as your AAV is opening when cold and closing when energized, look elsewhere. What is your residual pressure after the engine has been shut down a couple of hours?

If your injectors are spraying properly, AAV works fine, WUR works fine, etc, then your problem is ignition. In fact, you should be making certain that your ignition system is PERFECT before you make any changes or analysis of the fuel system.

I have not checked residual pressure yet. I will also check AAV to make sure it is closing when warm/energized. As for ignition system, I'm not sure what to check for perfection. It has a new rotor, cap, and plugs. Isn't there a method for checking the coil for resistance?
