Cool Dual GHL, new valance & 930S wheel are finally in! :)

Hi,

We finally have our 930 back.

Here are some pictures to show you guys how our new 930S wheel & dual GHL and valance turned out.

Here is a before picture:

After:

I also have two Quick Time Movie .mov files for the sound. One is in the drive-way & one of Tim driving away. It sounds a bit loud standing behind it, but I can live with it. It sounds great from the inside though and drives smoother.

Can anyone help me host the movie files so people can hear it if they want??

Thanks!!

Sarah~

I hate the Carrera widebody...

Everytime I see a picture of a black widebody 911, it reminds me too much of my mother's stolen 911 turbo-look targa.

Sarah, the car looks beautiful.

Sarah,
The exhaust looks "puposeful" and the steering wheel looks perfect in your car.
P.S. I posted some pics of Flashes parents in OT.

Looks great. Even the car is happier as shown by the more colorful "after" pic. Looks like your ready for the Spring and Summer!

Thank you for the feed back.

Neil - What a bummer. Having my porsche stolen would be one of the worst things ever! I'm still paranoid about that.

Jerry - I'll send you a PM to see how to get the files to you and then do a link. Thanks.

T H - I'll check out the OT section after this and see the Flash pics. (I love seeing new dog pics).

pbs911 - I noticed that too. The before picture does look kind of gloomy.

Looks great. All you need now are Euro rear bumper pads.

Movie clips? Yes please

Sara-
Your car looks fantastic. Congratulations!

Hang on.... is that you husband's car in the garage? An Explorer? Boy, I'd sure hate to be driving that with my wife driving a bad-a$$ 930. Between that and the "4MYLADY" plate you must really be something.

Sarah,

Glad you like the GHLs... did you change the header as well? You may recall I ran into fitment problems when header and muffler were changed.

You'll probably find a resonance buzzing below 2,000 rpm - that's the car telling you it wants to go faster or at least be in a ready-to-pass gear.

And you gotta love that sound when the car is on full boost!

Sean - Actually the Explorer is mine too. Tim's is the Jeep behind the garage...he was unloading wood (but I get the garage for both the Explorer and the Porsche). I don't know how I got so lucky!

BlkBrd - The Tech also had fitment problems due to the headers that were already on were not the GHL brand. They had to weld and remeasure to get it to look even. And yes you are right...I have heard a bit of a resonance and the 930 did not like going slow in morning traffic last Friday. I think that was porsche abuse to be going so slow!

I sent an email to Jerry about hosting the clips. Hopefully a link can be made and posted within this thread.

Sarah,

Did you go with the 3" or 4" pipes on the dual muffler?

I went with the 3" and they did a special baffle to reduce some of the loudness...(but I have to say...it did sound like a monster when I was directly behind it taking the mini clips in the drive way...but it sounds way cool when Tim is driving down the block)!

The fitment on the muffler tips looks great. On mine, the right tip looks too long. I'll be taking it to a muffler shop for some fine tuning (now that I finally passed emissions)...

Can you give details on the valence? I cut the right side of mine to match the left, but the un-cut part in front of the right muffler tip doesn't look quite right. I know that RUF sells a part that matches the factory cutout...but its damn expensive. Looking for alternatives that don't cost an arm and a leg.

Very nice Sarah,

My 930S steering wheel is in transit from Pelican by US Postal Service? No wonder I'm replacing my perfectly good stock one! Because people like you post pictures like that!!!! Looks fantastic!!

Realistically though, I must maintain a certain budget or I'd be sporting a 930 too...... nothing compares. Great pics!

Lifestyle update: Took a boat cruise down the lake today for lunch; ahhh, summer.... bring it on! Thanks for your note about how beautiful it is where I live; your sisters place is not too shabby either? Gorgeous backyard.

Jerry - thank you again for hosting the files and making the link. That was very nice of you.

Josh - when we got the posche back the first time...the right side was also longer and unlevel with the left. Tim took it back and they said it was because our headers were not GHL. They did some cutting/welding to make it even/level and ordered a new valance. The cuts in the old valance were way too big.

Rob - we have pretty much used up our porsche budget for the summer too. You will like your 930S wheel. We got the spacer too and like the distance b/ the wheel & dash.

Thanks again everyone for the feedback. Sarah~
