Is there a substitute for Cabriolet top release handle?

Good morning.

I recently took possession of an '87 Cab, and I don't have the top release handles. They're stupidly expensive for what they are, and this is nothing like a concours car. So, I'm more than happy to drop the top with a cheap substitute, even something from the hardware store, if such a thing exists.

I've searched the net and this forum exhaustively, but I don't see any mention of a way to release the top with something else.

I can't be the first person to need to do this...

Cabriolet woes......

Could you post a picture? I think I have the similar problem too. Are you talking about the cabriolet roller latches? Thanks.

I have two of the release handles I’d be willing to sell for 150$ shipped in the usa. Send a pm if interested.

This is a picture of the part. It looks like a socket extension with a plastic handle. Pelican wants $240 apiece. Assuming it's for this, and not the earlier version, Vince's offer of $150 for a pair is actually a pretty good deal.

If Shawn is not buying them, I will take them. What is the part # on it? Thanks.

For what its worth, you can probably get away with just 1 of them. I lost one of the handles for my cab and just used the 1 for a while until the other turned up when I removed the seats.

Good to know. Thanks!
