Painted center caps

Hi Pelicans,
I used to own a small paint and body shop back in the 90’s and specialized in Porsche’s. I do miss it sometimes....but went on to work at a production collision shop and have now been retired for 10 years. I still tinker with my 71E that I’ve owned for 40+ years and just painted the center caps. They are not perfect.....I’m 64 and the hand is a little shaky. I would like to do other Porsche owners caps if there is a need for it out there. Even though they take about an hour each.....I would still do them at a reasonable price. I attached a picture of the ones I just did.

Not sure what to charge, but I was thinking $15/cap. That’s for the paint only, you would supply your cap or I could arrange to buy new ones.

looks great do you need a customer to send the donor caps first or do you have a polished and painted set for sale?

That's extremely reasonable IMHO ... I painted mine 2 yrs ago, it's a PITA to get it to a point where I felt comfortable about the appearance ... from say 5 feet away. Yours look great.

@mhurwitz I do not want to dismiss your work but are you aware of the reasently presented center caps?

I would just paint a persons original caps. I’m in Southern California. You would send me your caps, I would paint them and send them back.

Doesn’t get any better than that. It’s just an option for someone who doesn’t want to spend that much.

sounds amazing

I tinker with my car a lot as well, partly because I like to very much but also because I fear not being up to it the older I get.
64 is a respectable age
wishing you many more years and even more Porsche-love!
