				Breather hoses on 3.6 conversion?

What are you all using for the two breather hoses on your 3.6 conversions into Carreras? I've been using low pressure hydraulic bulk hose but it's bulky, heavy and has a poor bend radius. Chose this because it's interior liner will hold up to oil vapors. But there has to be a better solution. Engine is on the engine stand, pulled it out to re-time the Dougherty cams, adjust the valves and change the pressure plate. Perfect time to easily get at the two lines- from crankcase to tank, from tank to intake.

Suggest hose from oil tank to a JAZ products catch can with drain mounted in the left rear wheel well using a thru fitting from engine compartment. I used XRP hose & fittings provided by TMR in Orange CA.

Grainger has petroleum-rated hose too (e.g. 2" ID = $11/foot). Ryan-Herco (rhfs.com) carries commercial hose products in a myriad of materials (polyurethane, Tygon, PTFE, Polypropylene, etc.) https://www.rhfs.com/tubing-hose.html?filter=type%3A2%3AUnreinforced#cds-product-container#cds-attribute-type I've used regular heater hose in my breather setup. It's not oil resistant, but it's only transporting gas and oil fumes and in a non-pressurized system. It's available at your FLAPS and cheap enough to replace every 10 years. Sherwood | ||

Thanks, I have a Canton catch can inside the engine compartment mounted to the roll cage leg that lands on the longitudinal. I've been using 1" ID heater hose but it's heavy and not very flexible. I'll check out XRP hose

My application is racing. I just use a factory breather hose from the engine breather cover to the oil tank. For the tank breather, I have a custom set up which involves a small catch can high up in the cabin, and a second catch tank mounted right behind the oil tank. The set up was conceived by a friend-- he built my car and builds my engines. We have had about a half dozen cars set up like mine-- all race cars. The set up was created after more conventional breather set ups failed to be adequate. I think that somewhere in these forums there is a thread with some pictures of my set up.
