Autoheat, no manual heat lever
Have a 1983 911 SC Coupe and was troubleshooting an autoheat always on issue.
I have seen plenty of examples of autoheat with one heat lever, but mine has none. It also has no sensor in between the visors. Wondering if the car came this way or is it missing parts. My worst case scenario is to backdate to manual heat, but would prefer to try to resolve my issue first.

Did you try to disconnect the auto raise/lower bracket from the hand control ?
It's a 6 or 8 mm hex head about 10 mm long. Do this and your 'auto' lever becomes 'manual'. The bolt/screw is all the way down at the carpet level. Bill K

My 82 sc m.y. 83 dont have manual lever , but the ruberr **** has a split, because the lever was installed in previous model years and mother Porsche didnt modio the ****.
The sensor is abowe the sun visor, but i think it doesnt properly work. The auto heat system is usually a trouble maker, i was lucky to have mine changed some years ago with a good second hand part ( it s exepnsive to buy a new one from Porsche ) Now the system works well, but i dont use to much the car in winter. |

Thanks, was going crazy thinking I should have had the lever. If I cant get it working, will be going with disconnecting the auto raise/lower bracket. Also now on the lookout for the full handbrake assembly with manual levers as a worst case to backdate to manual heat. If anyone has a lead please let me know.

Mine was rusted cable tubes and the Caloric Sensor. Do a search and there is a thread on how to fix the sensor for $3.00 verses buying the $600.00 Porsche sensor. I found the part on Digikey website. The sensor is in the drivers rear heat diverter valve next to the engine to test it.
The cables involved removal and lots of rust penetrant, wire on a drill and compressed air to clean inside the tubes. Cables are solid stainless and we’re fine. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
