Ride height Chart
 
Does anyone know the original source of this chart, and where I might find a higher res version of it? I get a headache every time I try to read it!!

Better, and thanks!! But I asked a friend to apply his talent and he basically re-drew a layer on top of the old. I have to get a better file from him but here's a preview. Ignore the typo (there's only one that I see)!

Special thanks to Cory for doing this!!! I'm going to print it poster size for the shop. EDIT - Wow it looks great!!!!

If you are trying to derive fender height (which is a terrible way to accurately measure/compare ride heights, too many variables), you can't.

But it's a good way to see where you're REALLY at compared to the factory ride height. Which is 108 front, 12 (above) rear, measured as indicated on the diagram.

The 3 columns on the left are,
front height___rear height___how much lower the car is from stock
all measured by the factory method in mm
note that the rear heights are pos. until the car is lowered 12mm from stock, from there down the #s are neg, alternatively use the absolute values and then think, is the WC above or below the TC?

While you were working I think we made some changes as well (including a few of yours). I'll get the full res version updated and post the final results again. Sooner or later it'll be 101% correct!!!

Interesting chart. It shows that for every ride height the front TC is 120 mm lower than the rear TCC. Is that a golden rule? My car was recently redone and I have a 131 mm difference. So the front is possibly 11 mm too low? Or could there be a reason a shop would want a bigger drop? This is a 1973 911 with factory S front spoiler.

no, back then when the chart was first put together the importance of aero wasn't as well documented as it is now. Since then for aero the chassis wants a bit of down in front stance so Δb(torsion bars heights somewhat higher are pretty std these days. But it's also up to the owners taste.

For most street use aero just isn't that significant.
