Frustrating mixture/idle, help!

Starting to get a bit frustrated with this....I've posted a few times in the past weeks re mixture adjustment, first wrench adjusted it way too lean when the motor went back in (after clutch and oil leak work) car was overheating and almost stalling when starting up cold....took it back and he richened it up, but it started hunting at idle, took it back again, leaned it down to around 3%.

Now I notice that when the car is really good and warmed up, aka 75-80 mph for 45 minutes in 80 degree outside temp...when I come to a stop it idles at almost 2000 rpm and grinds like crazy when I want to get into 1st gear (engine RPMs way to high for the synchros), what the heck is going on now...Beautiful weather is here I don't want to fear the heat, I want to enjoy it!!!!

if you idle is high after warmup could be a few things. Aux Air valve or regulator, it appears you take your car to a mech, I would suggest telling him to fix it correctly. vacuum leaks are another cause...even an idle adjustment...just too many things to list for someone who uses a "wrench"
