Interior work in SF Area

Someone tried to steal my stereo, and I need to get a new dashboard put in. The dash is pulled out around the stereo and the passenger side airbag. It is a '90 Targa, so I think it is a single piece that needs to be replaced.

Does anyone in the San Francisco area know of a shop where I could get this done at a fair price? Thanks.

Farley

PS - I need my Targa top re-upholstered, too. Would appreciate any suggestions for this work, as well.

Farley-
sorry to hear about the creeps messing with your car. Can't help with the dash, but for Targa top work there's Targatops in Palo Alto (local) or cars-inc in NJ. Dan at Cars-Inc is THE guy for Targa tops. Do a search - you'll find lots of kudos about him here.

Yeah...they were creeps. The stereo was ten years old and they didn't even get it out. Just broke my window, ripped up my dashboard and scratched my passenger side door. My insurance company is lowballing me, so more time wasted fighting with them. I would have PAID the $#@% money to leave my car alone!!!

I have been planning on a trip to Palo Alto to speak with the TargaTops folks. I have also thought about trying to do it myself, but am a bit intimidated after seeing the feedback here about difficulty.

Hi Farley - Bascom Auto Upholstery comes highly recommended. I have been to their shop, but have never had any work done. They handle mostly Porsche repair and restoration.

By the way, to replace the dash the front windshield needs to be pulled. Now would be a good time to replace a chipped or worn windshield. Are you sure the thieves didn't break that as well?
