I have to dig for photos
but years ago I owned a London-to-Sydney 911 rally car. Could unfortunately not participate in the event, but during the build up and practice I thoroughly enjoyed the 911 on dirt roads. Lots of fun to drive a 911 with gravel tyres on dirt roads!

While the owner is not a Pelican head, Rothsport (Welcome to Rothsport Racing - TrackSupport) has entered two modified 964 in the NORRA for several years. The Desert Flyer and Red Sled.

One of the things I've enjoyed about the fairly rough body and paint on my 911 is that I don't drive or park in fear.
If I'm on a rural road and it turns into gravel and dirt I'm having just as much fun, and breaking the tail loose is a blast at low speeds. I had a 1966 Mustang back in the late 1970's early 1980's, fixed it up and helped paint it. From then on it was nothing but worry, worry worry. I never want to worry like that again. Off-road or rally 911's are the ultimate expression of "don't worry - be happy".

These are all great examples! Thanks for sharing guys.
@kach22i - I completely agree about the 'don't worry - be happy' statement. Even a stock 911 can be enjoyed on some back roads. We're working with a content creator who converted his 997 into an off-road warrior. Here's a photo of it as is currently sits: ![]() |

When my car was @ US ride height there was a gravel road, only open in summer months, called Silver Mine Rd, I think, in Northern NH , it was good for a spirited 'run'. Won't do it now I am lowered to Euro ride height... well maybe...
