How to replace regular oil tank with 964 style

I thought I saw where somebody mentioned using a 964 oil tank install, where the tank is in front of the rear wheel, instead of the conversion to a 1972 oil tank. You wouldn't have to chop up the sheet metal and repaint, I guess.

Has anyone done this? Or know the details of the project, like a parts list, etc. (??)

This for an early longhood (not '72 of course).
