Opinions/thoughts on front shock inserts

I have to replace the inserts on my 88, they are totally shot and it's holding the car back from what should be a quality Porsche ride. I have the units marked BOGE on the outside (orange/red in color) and I have read that I can replace them with Koni and others.

I like the Koni

because of the adjustability. It would be nice to keep it medium for most uses and firm for the canyons etc. I have had good luck with them in the past.

For background this is for normal (spirited) driving, not the track. I currently have Stien's on the rear that are fairly new but might match with appropriate Koni.

Thoughts, comments, experience and snide remarks on Koni, adjustable, application etc., or should I go another way altogether?

It's a nice shock, but you have to match the rears. Problem with Koni's is that to adjust the rears, you have to unbolt the bottom bolt, compress them completely to engage the adjuster, adjust it, then bolt the lower back in. Not quite like turning the knob on the front.

Personally, I would keep the same brand all around the car.

Really good point, I had not considered that.
