correct fuel filter for my 1978 SC

all,

looking to replace my fuel filter on my SC that currently has the Bosch part 045090016 on the filter.

i havent been able to find that part but found Bosch 0450905021 but noticed that the fuel direction is opposite that of my fuel filter. Can i run the fuel in the opposite direction? is there another filter i should be using?

any help appreciated!

thanks,

Kemo,

Your fuel filter -016 has 14.0 mm x 1.5 (Inlet) and 14.0 mm x 1.5 (Outlet), identical inlet and outlet. So if you are going to use -021 filter which has 14.0 mm x 1.5 (Inlet) and 12.0 mm x 1.5 (Outlet), you will need a 12.0 mm x 1.5 adaptor.

0-450-905-003............14/14 (inlet/outlet).
0-450-905-016............14/14 (inlet/outlet).

0-450-905-021............14/12 (inlet/outlet).
0-405-905-079............14/12 (inlet/outlet).

Kemo:

Make you you have the flow as shown on the filter body.

I save the fittings from the old filters to allow me to make sure I have the correct sizes. They do not go bad and at most, you need to replace the crush washer.

Often, you can swap them around.

I remember from years ago my SC's fitting were different to what the online spec's said they should be.

Before I place my order I think I'll actually remove mine and see what I've actually got.

93011019600 fit my 79sc. Had to remove the two fittings from the old filter and install on the new one.
