How do I separate these?

Taking one of my axles apart to inspect to see if it is causing a vibration at speed under load. The outer cage and balls came apart leaving the cage and inner bearing stuck on the axle shaft. I cannot separate the inner bearing from the axles shaft. It seems frozen. I've tried a gear puller (crappy one admittedly) and it simply bent the puller arm. I tried a vice and a punch to no avail. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

It will need to be pressed out hydraulically and if so please fully support the inner CV

I would clamp the axle right at the bottom of the bearing loosely
And hammer the shaft out. Use block of wood for spline protection.
It should come off. Hope I made sense.
Good luck!

A press would be easy and no damage. An air hammer would do it too, but leave a mark.

If you can get one side off and have a shop press, get a pipe from the hardware store 3-4" longer than the axle. Slide the pipe over and press the inner race down flush with the axle end. Then put a large socket under the axle and press the race off fully.

I'm big on new assemblies, too.

CV Removal

Just to make sure, because it is hard to see from the photo, there is a circlip at each end of the inner "race" that holds it in place on the axle. If they are not removes the race cannot be removed. Use snap ring plyers that will expand the clip. I hate this job because it is so dirty and slippery.

Good luck

Thanks so much for all of the suggestions for removal. I came to the same conclusion a few of you have...easier to just buy a new assembly. Frustrating thing is that this axle was a new one I bought just a few years ago. My originals came off the axle so easily but both ends of this one are stuck like crazy.
JW...I'd be curious if you have any thoughts on my vibration issue. Comes on a 65+ mph but is completely absent at this speed when not under load. Engine revs to red line smoothly in lower gears or neutral. Thanks.

Tires?
How old are they?
Have they been sitting around?
