Can anyone identify what this hole is for?
I purchased outer rocker panels for my 1973 911 from restoration design. Part number pp212cl. It has a hole in the forward part on the top. It would sit under the door. It would be under the chrome threshold. I am wondering what that is for? They could not tell me. Is there supposed to be a plug that goes in that? I could not find one anywhere listed. What do I do with that cover it?http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1617905062.jpg

Call them and ask them what the hole is for. Maybe a hose or wiring. It is certainly designed to be there.

Could possibly be there for manufacturing purposes. Fixturing for manufacturing/assembly or measuring?

Best picture I have. The holes are covered with flat metal plates, same gauge as the parent metal. Fabricate them to be the size shown in the picture so they sit flat. |
Prestallion is correct.
I asked the same question back in 2005. It was discussed in the thread below. Post #16 has your answer, although you might want to review the entire thread as it contains the part number for the hole cover. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/205204-doorsill-patch-what.html |
Thank you so much!!
