My Quickjack exploded and covered my 911 and garage with ATF because I am a moron
 

Figured this deserved it's own post, so we can all collectively laugh at my mistake.

Definitely had some learning moments in this one.

I was thinking "noooooooooooo" as you were adding fluid. I knew what was coming from that point.

No laughing on my side, I had enough bloopers myself! I could have made the same mistake myself when in a sloppy mood.

We all make mistakes. Good you can laugh about it.

I had a fire extinguisher go off in my car while cornering reasonably hard. That wasn't fun.

I have done worse. Had my oil cooler off, cranked the engine. You know the rest of the story.

Do big deal. We all make mistakes. As long as we learn from those mistakes it ok. Besides no one got hurt.

I'm glad you're safe.

I was not paying attention and overfilled my power steering pump on the F100 so I got out the trusty fluid pump. When I sucked out enough, I stupidly pulled the plastic suction piece up before all the ATF made it to the container and dumped ATF all over my shirt and pants, and I HATE the smell of ATF.

Sometimes stuff happens. Big of you to post it so others can learn. No harm done apparently.

Keep making Pcar vids. I have watched all of yours several times.

It's good you weren't staring down toward the pump when it blew. Could have been much worse.

A friend of mine recently had a scary experience with the QuickJack. He borrowed them from another guy. One of the fittings on the pump side came loose. It was barely dribbling ATF and he didn’t notice it. He had no issues raising the car but when he went to lower it one side lower much faster than the other and it almost came down and pinned him to the wall.

I had a problem with mine where I had to crack a fitting to be able to insert the quick connect. I’m at the point where I check the connections every single time I use it. I like mine and I’ve probably used them about two dozen times since I bought them but I’m starting to have some trust issues.

I always use jack stands with them as a backup.

You have reminded me. Confession time.

I had a spare set of 911SC front brake calipers that I was trying to free up using a G clamp. It suddenly freed up and shot rotten brake fluid in my eye, hair and blasted the ceiling. LOL that stuff stank.
