Headlight wires scorched
Car is an ‘87 930 with H5 (9004) lights. Headlights don’t get a lot of use. I’ve installed relays (Jwest) and am replacing lamps with 45/65 due to passenger light being out. Upon disassembly, I noticed scorching on the passenger side wires. You can’t tell from the picture but the scorch marks all line up. I’m hopeful this is damage from PO running too high a wattage at some point.
I was planning on ordering new H5 connectors (with pig tails) and cutting the burnt wire section out. If I replace the connectors, remove scorched wiring, run relays with 45/65 watt bulbs, am I good? Thanks ![]() Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I bought some ceramic connectors on Ebay for my 89 as i noticed the wires weren't looking too good at one point.I also did the JWest relay. The connectors come with about six inches of heavy gauge wiring so you should get a clean splicing point.
That was a few years ago but i imagine they would still be available ...
