Fourteenth Annual NY/NJ/CT/MA/PA/DE/MD/VT/NH/ME/VA Thanksgiving Weekend Rallye

The leaves have turned, the guys with back dated heat are kicking them selves, theres a nip in the air but that low humidity always seems to make engines run better. We're back for another year ending P-Car fun run.

For many of you this has become a yearly tradition, and for others its a new event but for all its a day of P-Car fun! The gathering will be much the same this year as it has been in the past.

I have made headway on my SC but its not back on the road yet so I may still need to ride shotgun if someone has some space for me (leaving and returning from Rye).


Date: 11/30/2024
Starting Location: Rye Playland (main parking lot)
Route: See Map
Starting Time: 8:30 (leaving Playland, please arrive earlier if you intend on gassing up, chatting, grabbing some food)

Start: Rye Playland
Arrive: Please feel free to arrive early if you want to gas up, eat, or hang out for a bit
Leave: 8:30 am

Second Stop
Location: The Park And Ride @ 1056 NY-45, Pomona, NY 10970
Arrive ~9:00am
Leave: 9:30 Am
This has been our spot to catch the group coming from west of the Hudson as well up from NJ.

Third Stop:
Shop Rite @ 10A NJ-23, Montague Township, NJ 07827
Arrive 10:45
Leave 11:30
Im going to leave some extra time here for people to re-group, and gas up if need be. There is a McDonalds and a truck stop there as well but neither have parking lots that are size-able enough for everyone so Im keeping the location as the shopping center.

Fourth Stop:
Corner of route 97 and Brook Road, there is an empty lot on the north west side of the intersection.
Arrive 12:00PM
Leave 12:30
We have, in years past stopped for lunch along 97 but the various venues up there seem to struggle to handle groups so we will likely stop in one of the empty lots to wrap it up and those that wish to drive more can continue on while some of us head to town for lunch.

F.A.Q (questions I have gotten in the past and have answers to)
- This is a free event, there is no sign up, just show up
- This has always been a free event I have no intention of changing that.
- Traditionally this has been a Porsche Only Event.
- We are not responsible for what you do during the day. The law is the law, the Rally does not endorse speeding or reckless behavior, this is a fun event and there is no winner.
- All plans will be updated on this original post so please check back here for info
- You can spread the word to all Porsche owners you know including local PCA chapter, the more the merrier.
- This is not a PCA event and I would like to keep it that way, the PCA has many rules about their events, not all of which this conforms to. BUT feel free to bring your PCA buddies along and spread the word at your next meeting.
- If you are new to this event, check out the previous years to see what its all about.

Month out bump, also, almost as important, I no longer need a ride! I have acquired a new (to me) p-car. It has a few small projects im tending to now but should be ready in time. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

FYI, the ShopRite in Port Jervis on Rt-23 is closed, it may not show up on computers or GPS. The parking lot is still available. If you look up "ShopRite Pharmacy of Montague" you should get results.

Excited to see everyone tomorrow, a few last minute notes.

It looks like its going to be cold but the weather looks clear so the drive is still on. Im not sure hat the road conditions will be as we move west so please drive carefully.


No formal lunch has been arranged this year but heres some options if your looking
- Ill likely go back into town to Arlene and Toms for a burger, all are welcome to join. Its a diner kinda place, has some decent options.
- The former Carriage House looks like its now a high end restaurant and B&B "The Rivers Edge". Looks fancy but is across from where we will end if if anyone is interested.
- "Bens Fresh" in town also looks decent

Hi Dave.
Great to see you and all the other participants with their cars. Beautiful crisp , clear day of driving. Good to see you now have a 996.1 that you can enjoy. My 996.2 makes me happy.
These Porsches are why we get together each year.
We all need to talk this ride up during the year to other Porsche owners to keep it going.
