Need help identifying sensors please
 
I just purchased a 1973 911T that has had some nice custom work done by the previous owner. I’m not very experienced with Porsches. So pardon the newbie questions please.

There seems to be a number of sensors that have been abandoned. The car runs really nice and pulls strong at 5,000 rpms and upward. My only concern is that it back fires in what sounds like the exhaust. It happens fairly frequently and mostly at the lower rpm range. It also doesn’t get any better when the car is fully warmed up.

I wasn’t sure if any of the sensors may be causing this. The oil level gauge pegs up and down while driving. It kinda looks like it’s a loose connection of some sort. Otherwise it’s a great car!

I’ll attach pics of sensors if anyone can help identify them. I’m attaching the pic of info from Barrett Jackson where I purchased it so you can read what has been done to the car. Thanks for any help!!

Car has MSD ignition and coil too if that matters and dual exhaust.

Power comes from a 3.0-liter flat-6 engine fed by 40mm PMO carburetors, upgraded camshafts and stainless-steel exhaust system. Delivering power to the rear wheels is a Porsche 915 5-speed manual.

Sensors on the timing chain covers are temp sensors for the CIS system that was originally on the car, that are now abandoned because you are running carbs.

The one at the back of the motor is the oil pressure warning.

Have someone who's experienced go through your carbs and the popping should be reduced.

The oil level issue is common, don't rely on the gauge, only the dipstick. The level sensor is in your oil tank thats in your passenger rear quarter panel. The level sensor could be faulty giving you an inaccurate reading.
