Temperature gauge not working

H,

I have a 84 3.2 and the temperature gauge does not seem to be working. Can someone tell me where the sensor is and a part number please?

I think the temp sensor is up in the "triangle". Either there or below and to the left of the oil pressure sending unit. I'll take a pic of both locations while my engine is out.

Thank you

I think the sensor below the large round pressure sending unit is the one you're looking for. Both are to the right of the engine fan. If you have air conditioning, it will be below the compressor. I think the one in the triangle (top right and front of the engine) is for something else like an idiot light but I'm not 100% sure.

Someone needs to ask Pelican why in the hell I had to do a google search for "911 oil temp sending unit" and found it from a competitor and then did a part number search to get a result from Pelican. I was literally on their parts site and did a search for oil temperature sending unit and got no results.

Now I am confused, I have been given 2 different part numbers.

911-606-112-00

930-606-118-00

Which one actually goes to the dash temperature gauge?

When in doubt about a part, just call them and talk to a human. They can make sure you get the right part.

The Pelican staff often have to do a Google to find stuff. Inside secret, don't tell anyone.

I addition. Did the sender work then quit or did it not ever work? If it did, look for the part #. You may have to pull it or turn it a bit loose. Replace same for same.

Check continuity with the wiring to the gauge to see if it is not a wiring issue.
