Rear Drop Link / Swing Arm Mount
I have a 79 SC and when I got it, the rear sway bar was missing. One of the mounts had torn so the bar was removed, forever to be gone.
I've recently picked up a stock sway bar with drop links, and bought a mount and clamps and bolts etc... I thought it odd that the bolt to affix the drop link to the swing arm was too long... Then when I went to mount the bar, the drop link was on a bit of an angle and it all doesnt quite reach. I started to look at some pics on PP, and it turns out that there seems to be some sort of spacer or bushing or casting, between the drop link, and the swing arm. Here is a pic showing the spacer/bushing/casting... that everyone else seems to have. ![]() ![]() I havent taken a photo of mine yet for comparison, but will do shortly... Trying to figure out why I dont have that casting?

That bushing is part of the link, if yours don't have them then you need to replace them. They're not expensive and Pelican carries them, Porsche and aftermarket.

Tony
I think I have written a confusing post, and Pelican wont allow me to delete it. So I will try to correct it... The photos above, are NOT of my car. They are pics I have taken off the net, to show what they 'should' look like. It's 4am here, and I just went out to the garage to take photos of MY CAR (which is what I should have done in the beginning). This is what my swingarm mount looks like: just a threaded hole. ![]() This next pic, shows how far the bolt will go in.

I'm wondering if my car is the older swingarm that had a "ball" and the drop links are meant to be the older style that pushed on, with a nylon cup....
As mentioned initially, the swingarm and drop links that I have now, were bought 2nd hand and are NOT original to THIS car.
