H1 & H4 Halogen Bulb Performance

Good morning all...

We're revamping the original Audette Collection site to return it to it's original informational format. As part of the process we will be adding additional current information. The first, added yesterday, is a short look at current H1 and H4 halogen technology.

There’s a lot of attention on LEDs these days and they’re great. But meanwhile halogen bulb technology has been moving forward rapidly. Bolstered by content by Audette Collection friend and informal consultant Daniel Stern, the article goes as deep as most of us want to go. Also, out of the hundreds of options available, many with promise of greater illumination and most with fancier packaging and catchier names, we have chosen only one halogen bulb to sell based on expert advice from Daniel. The article tells you which one and why we chose it. You will find it at:

A Guide to H1 & H4 Bulbs | Audette Collection & The AC SHOP: The Definitive Resource on Air Cooled Porsche 911 Lighting for Over 20 Years

The latest technology makes halogen bulbs an inexpensive and effective upgrade.

Cheers,
John

Note: Daniel Stern is an expert vehicle lighting consultant based in Vancouver, British Columbia, and Seattle. He serves as an expert witness, actively participates in technical standards development and research bodies, has contributed text to regulations in several countries and territories, and has attended the United Nations vehicle lighting regulation working group at the invitation of its president. He collects technically and historically significant car lamps, helps drivers safely upgrade their cars’ lighting, and serves as Chief Editor of the industry’s technical journal, DrivingVisionNews. We're delighted to have him as a friend and informal technical consultant.

Great read. Thanks for continuing to progress automotive lighting science among the Pelican community.

What bulbs will you be sending with the H4's that you're currently restoring for me?

Also, perhaps a typo in the last sentence here?...

"“Require” is squishy here — if the wiring on the car is in good shape, then there won’t be any problem provoked by these bulbs. However, any bulb will give more and better light with low-resistance feeds and grounds. The will bulb’s lifespan will be shortened."

How do these compare to Philips RacingVision H4 Headlight Bulbs?
