HOW DO I get the ignition rotor off?????

Okay, everyone, try not to laugh too hard, but I CANNOT get the ignition rotor off. What's the trick? I'm afraid if I pull any harder, I'm going to break something.

It should just pull off. Try two screwdrivers on opposing sides under the lower surface of the rotor arm and push against the distributor casing if that makes sense

Hopefully you don't need to go ballistic on it but I had one similarly stuck on my boat and took a Dremel and cut a slit in the plastic part of the rotor careful not to nick the distributor shaft and took a big wide screwdriver and pried it apart and it popped free quite easily.

I ended up using a piece of flat steel and a pry bar to get mine off. It was one of the rpm limiting ones but acted like it was glued on. No chance of saving it ether.

Okay, I'll try these suggestions. Thanks!

I've cracked more than one trying to get them off. Have a spare ready to go. Put a bit of grease on the shaft before installing the new one.
