Tire Wear Question

Hi,

My driver's side rear tire is very worn while the rear passenger side has a lot of tread left. Most of the wear is located on the edge of the tread area near the rim. The alignment seems ok, but obviously something is wrong. What could be causing this problem and how is it corrected? Thanks.

You think the corner balance is necessary?

might not be necessary.. but if you have a problem/dilemma like that at least do the ride height, w/driver weight in the seat and 3/4 tank of fuel. then take it in to confirm correct alignment. I think once you show 'em the bad tire they'll do it. I hope you have confidence in your alignment shop, or get a temp probe and measure in 3 spots /between the threads/ across the tire.. and if you spring for the probe, you might as well get a thread depth measuring tool/low bucks.. naturally you maintain tire psi........Ron
