Do you have any dyno sheets or videos? The website claim of 9 wheel horsepower is pretty substantial, especially from our anemic sub 200bhp SC engines.

I'd be more interested if it was real carbon and not fake

Achtungkraft makes a carbon fiber one. I have it and it's probably the nicest piece of kit my car has:
https://achtungkraft.com/products/cis-porsche-air-filter-cover-carbon-fiber I too would like to see those performance claims backed up with factual data... until that time it's all snake oil.

At AchtungKraft, we advertise the hand laid matte twill carbon fiber. We advertise the glorious flat six intake sounds it releases. We advertise the custom paint and screen options. What we don't advertise is HP values. Nobody runs CIS to make big power. But with the added noise, you'll enjoy more of the HP you already have.

Second the video request.
How much louder is the induction ? Holes in the airbox make a racket, that I know. |

People have done dyno tests without any cover over the air filter and without the filter all together. Without any measurable performance increase. (This was back on the original Rennlist list server and I don't have the data to back this statement.)
Those results indicate that cumulative restrictions downstream could not be overcome by tweaking the cover. The the air path is very Rube Goldberg. Down through the filter, across and then force its way up past the air flow metering plate, across the rubber bridge to the throttle body, then down into the air box where it will finally be pulled into the individual long runners. I'd guess these same issues are why enlarged throttle bodies haven't resulted in significant gains? I like the look of these covers. Anything to reduce the clutter. And I assume the increased induction sound might be desirable. |
