Need some help here. I have an 84 sunroof coupe. I am getting a rattle from the area near where the outboard mount for the sunvisor is on the passenger side. I have adjusted the sunroof and it makes no difference. I also get this noise even if the sunroof is open. I have to hit a bump to get it, but it is driving me nuts.
Thanks, Jeff |

There are only two items in that area that could contribute to a rattle. One is the wire harness for the dome light. The other is the drain tube for the sunroof. It's hard to imagine either one rattling but I quess it's possible. The bad news is that the only way to get in to examine things is to remove the windshield and peel back the headliner.
Good Luck.

rattle
I had the same rattle. Turned out to be the dome light wires bumping against the roof. Try pulling out the dome light and run around with the light hanging and the wires tight to see if it still rattles. This will at least narrow your search. I wound up taping the excess wire to the roof with duct tape.
Good luck, Ted |

Thanks for the help guys. It appears that it was actually the wire that runs to the temp sensor in the center of the roof. All fixed now!!
Cheers
