Smile Track look for Mid-Ohio DE

Just returned home from a 3-day DE at Mid-Ohio. An awesome track very well suited to early cars - power ain't the name of the game. I hope to have some video available later in the week.

This picture was my inspiration.

My car was dressed in its new track colors. A little Rustoleum paint for the wheels and some magnetic vinyl film for the stripes and numbers. Thus, I spent three fun filled days driving Mid-Ohio in this version of RS911T.

Very nice. Can I ask what size tires and rims are those in the back? Does not look like you have flared fenders? Rolled? I too have a 72, but those look like some fat tires and wheels.
Thanks!

Yes, two different cars

The 2nd is mine imitating the 1st. Wouldn't mind if they were both mine!

tobluforu, the rear tires are 205/50-15 on 7x15 rims. Same size tire on the front, 6" rims. The wider rim gives it the fat look.

Greg; Great Pictures!

I was going to put ST flares on my 911 as I'm converting it for SCCA E-Prod use, but after reviewing the track width specifications along with the 7 inch maximum wheel width, I'm reconsidering. Would you care to share some comments about your set-up? It looks lowered and stiffened. What sort of times were you turning?

Greg, that's a fantastic look. Now I need to come up with a color scheme for Lu's car before I go to DE. Hmmm, what goes with Aubergine?

Please tell us about your time at Mid-Ohio. Any additional pics?

Just kidding Jim.

Hmmm, I'm getting hungry, Chris. But your example makes me think red and pale yellow stripes. Thanks for the suggestion, Chris!

Greg, where did you get the magnetic vinyl numbers / stripes done at?

John, I wasn't timing. But, I have some in-car video from the last couple sessions. Don't expect good times - I'm just a Greenie! As far as the suspension: 22/28 t-bars, 19/16 antiroll, RSR front struts and Bilstein sports on the back (newly installed - tech discovered the RSR rears were leaking!). Also, I discovered this weekend the rear wells have been rolled.

Jim, lots of pics and video to process. All the vinyl work I did myself with the remnants from Tony K's car. Really easy to do. The wheels are Rustoleum - John Deere yellow TRACTOR paint!! Really!!
