'86 coupe, can I convert power locks to manual?
I've searched and I'm more confused. Want to convert my '86 from the power locks to manual. Is this a simple as yanking out the power drivers or more involved than that? Going to pull the AppBiz RS door panels off this afternoon to take a peek but thought I'd see if anyone on here has actually done this. I've got a proper track kill switch on the car so there's no way to get into the car easily with the power disconnected. Thanks!

SC style latches and door handles I would assume.

Just the inner latch mechanisms. See the pic in my old WTB for what you need. Assuming you're talking about central lock.

Maybe take out the fuse that controls the circuit?

I've removed the entire center console and plan to pull out the locking computer from under the front hood. None of it is any good when I've pulled the kill switch on the cowl. |
Well I figured out the problem. The lever that the outer door pull pushes against was bent such that it would not release the door. Removed the power lock motor (tested, works fine), bent the piece back in place and now I can unlock the driver's door with the key, without power. Yea, I can't lock the door, put I can lean through from the passenger side and turn the lock knob so I'm good to go for now.

I left my actuators in the door because at some point I might add keyless entry. I plan to tap into the existing wiring and use the CL actuators to work with remote keyless entry. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/304308-installing-remote-keyless-entry.html |
