Rear Type M caliper rebuilt - &*%$! snap ring
Help!! After finishing the plating of the rear calipers and hardware, I thought I was close to having the car ready for a weekend cruise. I've spent a couple hours trying to get the snap ring to stay in place. No matter what I do, it immediately slides off the rubber boot. WTH, any tricks??

they say get the gerber baby food jar and use the rid. but that didn't work for me.
just keep at it. you will make it. |
Original snap ring or replacement? A Garage Time YouTube video recently showed the snap rings in some rebuild kits are not identical to the originals and hinted they may be more prone to sliding out of place.

Just a hint
I save the original clips and have them plated with the calipers. Some replacements have too much tension and pop off leading to offensive language.Downside is the color is not correct for the anal retentive person.Ciao Fred
