Option I912 Vehicle without identification plate
My 1984 US version 911 Carrera has this option I912. Sounds weird. Why would anyone want to delete the ID plate?

I wonder if it is just like the modern model designation delete option?

My Carrera is an '84 Turbo Look (M491). It has no badging. My '87 Turbo Look doesn't have badging either.
