how far should rubber seal windshield go over body edge?

My new window is in (what a PITA!). I am a bit insecure about how far the rubber seal should fold over the edge of the body frame. On the top side, it's only 1-2 mm. Pulling/pushing the rubber does not make any difference, as if it's pushed back by the outer side of the rubber hitting the recess in the body. And yes, the rubber is flipped over the vinyl liner.
This is a picture, does this 'gap' between the arrows seem normal? It's a 86 targa. Picture taken at the sunvisor area.

Where did you start with the cord? Bottom or top? Normally 1 1/2 - 2 wraps. So you can go over the first area again after it has near seated. Looks like it has not fully pulled in. Yet.
Has that top bit had two pulls of cord thru it? You generally won't get it to fit properly all the way around with one circuit of the cord.

The lip is just curled. Slide an L shaped plastic panel tool under it where it's not curled and slide the tool along until everything is straight. An extra hand pressing gently on the outside of the seal will help as well.

the curling you see is cause of the underlying shape of the body metal is as indicated with the red line. This gives a misleading impression.

Okay. I just noticed a slight fold in the pic where you placed the red arrow. I'll have to go out and see if my 85 Cab has that same lip. I recall having to do some pressing as well as using a plastic body panel tool to get my seal to fit properly when I did my windshield.
