air cooled 911s - inner wheel well protection

KGL has been spending some time lately with harbor freight detail brushes - de-gunking stuff - old T-shirts - other various brushes and cleaning implements > just to clean up the tail light components of my 80 SC.

I swear - when I first pulled it/tail light out of the body panel - there was 1/8 in of dirt/road debris caked all over it. Which gives me thought > why don't we have inner wheel well plastic gizmos that prevent the dirt from getting into our vital inner stuff??

which is why I ask the question?? Does anyone in the USA >> land of the Entrepreneur >> the guy with a good/solid idea - and the basic knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes -etc have we developed a inner fender well to cut down on the amount of crap that our air-cooled cars kick up??

I've heard there is someone in the UK that has made some - but I want to buy American..

As we know >> ALL the newer "modern cars have inner fender/wheel well protection..we need the same to protect our beloved air cooled 911s!!

anybody got a lead - source for wheel wells??

thanks

kgl rant over

At the risk of sounding like a smart-ass, the guy with 2 911s, a Merc, and a BMW wants to buy 'merican?

I got a nice set of wheel liners from a nice fellow in Austria who had a batch made up as part of a group buy on the UK site impactbumpers.com. There's a whole thread there.

EDIT - His username is austria3

911 Inner Fender Shields
$299.00/pair
Pre-formed inner Fender Shields attach inside of the Fenders and help prevent road debris, kicked up by the tires, from damaging the outer surface. Priced per pair.

The non-galvanized cars need these removed yearly for cleaning/inspection if used in bad weather. A good idea for galvanized cars every few years as well.
