Engine suspension bracket mods

I found this on BAT and I was curious about the modified engine carrier with the extra holes.

Looks to be a Rennline stainless steel unit ...
I have one on my car and it's a lot beefier than the OEM version that i rewelded twice before
i purchased the Rennline version.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I'm referring to the black part just above the PMO air filter base

Just a cradle that's been opened-up to make it easier to get to the pulley-nut/pulley, crank seal etc.. and of course its lighter weight with some of the metal removed.

Looks like some nice bits from Rennline on there, like the engine mount cross bar, cradle and billet aluminum valve covers.

The bases are in the foreground.

It looks like they've cut away material from the Rainshield top cover, or ..... the white area underneath could just be white packing material wrapped around it, creating a visual effect. It could also be plastic material added to the filter top. Just a guess.

The drilled crossmember doesn't appear to be any different from other lightened and/or reinforced home-made or commercially available crossbars.

The red piece to the left of the engine fan looks to be an anodized Taormina oil filter adapter that replaces the engine oil cooler.

He is talking about the engine console which, in the photo, is right above rightmost PMO filter base....

wouldn't that opening allow the cooling fan to draw air directly off the muffler? Seems like a horrible mod, or am i remembering the engine bay sealing wrong?

Yes, you would think that is not the best idea!

It would be nice with some removable sheetmetal. I'd love to be able to access that space for cleaning / dropped bits.
