Jenvey ITB's and Airbox Anyone?
Hello,
Has anyone fashioned or found a solution for an airbox for the Jenvey individual throttle bodies? Other than the usual bolt on a GT3 intake complication on top. I love the way they sound but for a long drive they are a bit loud. An airbox should dampen the intake noise quite a bit while still retaining the trumpets. I look forward to hearing some suggestions. Regards, Steve http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1624299110.jpg |

I have ITBs with ITG filters on a pretty extreme 3.5 twin plug engine and induction noise is surprisingly low. Exhaust is quite quiet because of a rather large dp motorsport muffler.
Short answer is change your muffler. |
Fredie,
The best solution is to put 996 GT3 intakes on top of the ITBs. I am pretty sure that Rothsport has done this Jenvey ITBs. It would look like this: http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1377358466.jpg The ability to do this requires an ECU that could control a flapper solenoid. Well, I guess you could use an RPM switch too. This setup gives you better midrange torque and supposedly does not hurt top end power. |
Agreed on the muffler. It is a bit loud as well.
I see Jenvey offers an air box to fit the base plates I have. I was hoping someone may have tried them with a cone filter retaining the velocity stacks/trumpets inside. Or other concepts similar as such. I like the idea of the long runners and etc.. of GT3 intake but it seems like a lot of fiddling and extra weight for perhaps minimal gain. My engine has plenty of low mid and top charge. |

I did not mean to shoot your ideas down. It is a proven solution. I was just wanting to find a different solution.
I appreciate your input. Regards Steve |
