High Pressure AC Lines?
I am going to change the o-rings on my '83 SC AC lines and was wondering if I have to worry about high pressure before I disconnect the lines?

Yes, but the pressure depends on how much refrigerant is in the system and how recently the A/C was run before you disconnected the lines. There can be 300 plus psi in the high pressure line! A line with that pressure can whip around or blow hard enough to take your eyes out. Why are you changing o-rings? The proper way is to put an A/C harness on it and if there is any pressure showing take it to a shop that has a refrigerant recovery system and have them pump it out and recycle it. The system will have to be evacuated with a vacuum pump after replacing the o-rings anyway before refilling with refrigerant so if you don't have the equipment and information to do this job take it to an A/C shop. Cheers, Jim
