C'mon guys!!
Carrera is a relatively common Spanish surname. Probably the shop in Puerto Rico does not deal with cars or anything similar. There is even a well established "Carrera & Carrera" jewelry shop in Madrid. My friend dated one of the daughters, but that is another story... Some of these businesses may even have been established before Porsche. |

My comment was half hearted tongue in cheek.....I do Carrera script reproductions and get the same question....as long as Porsche is not in there, no problem.....that particular font is not in Porsche's domain either....

Carrera
is actually the spanish word for "race". No infringement here, unless somebody copywrighted the logo of the word "Carrera" in that font.

Wavey - where is that in Old San Juan. I get down there about once a month. Stay at the El Convento in Old Town. I have never noticed that shop.
By the way...my 80SC runs great with the new "catalytic" converter!!!!!

It's about 2 or 3 blocks north of the bay side of the peninsula (you know where the cruise chips dock?) - right in the heart of Old San Juan. My nephew lives a few more blocks north of there, in the old part of the city up by the fort. He's there for a few years, getting the Starbucks stores up and running (yeah, I know, let's don't start a Starbucks rant, OK?).
John - what a coincidence - you were in on the Dansk group buy, and now we have another connection. What do you do in PR? BTW, if I remember correctly, this place was a jewelery store. I think it's the one where the owner entriced my wife inside and had her trying on about $20K of jewelery. I hate guys who make me look bad. Best, Dave

Carrera y Carrera is a Spanish (Madrid) based jewelery design company, specialized in high-end (high-price) pieces. They have been in business for well over 100 years and while they have their own stores (Madrid, Barcelona, PR) you can find their designs all over the world at high-end jewelery stores.
As Paco Anton says Carrera is a common last name in Spain.
