Need Help finding a G97 workshop manual

Hey Team im in the middle of fitting a G97 into my 76 and im having a hard time finding a any info on the G97 reubild process. I need to change the pinion bearing. I have brought 2x 997 work shop manuals and both show how to do the turbo boxes but not the carrera box. So can anyone help with a workshop manual for the Aisin G97. Cheers Reece

Thanks for that bud sadly the 966 and 977 look the same on the outside but are entirely different on the inside and dont share a single part.

The G97 (non-GT3) is a completely different transmission, made by Aisin, from the G96, made by Getrag. Porsche initially did not make parts, tools, or documentation available even to their dealership techs. They eventually relented, maybe around 2012, and the dealer techs now have transmission rebuild information available to them.

I've yet to service a G97 and frankly don't know if I will ever want to. Several issues, the first is that Porsche / Aisin superseded *everything* in the transmission spanning 1st through 3rd gears. There's a TSB on this. So if you have a 2nd gear synchro that's worn in a G97 that has never been serviced, you are looking at many thousands to replace a lot of parts. It's cheaper to purchase a reman from Porsche.

Good luck!
