Carrera 3.2 A/C Compressor

My compressor was diagnosed as dead last summer, I recall being told the seals are shot. I suspect I neglected to run it regularly over the cool months. ‘Too hot here in Central Calif. to do without A/C any longer; so I must replace it.
Any suggestions? New or rebuilt, stock or other? (I think I heard somewhere that the stock compressor is same unit as on Ford F150.) Cooling capability was adequate, so I don't plan on any extravagant upgrades (with commensurate expense) like larger condensors, etc.
I do plan to replace the recevier/dryer, too.
Thanks in advance for any input.

Follow the rebuild article mentioned in the thread above. It is very straightforward to do the overhaul yourself.
Good luck,

If you don't want to rebuild it yourself, I found Compressors International here in Southern California to have very competitive prices on rebuilt compressors. I wouldn't waste my money on a new one....generally rebuilts are just fine.

Some people say that the Sanden rotary compressor will give you better performance. Performance Air in Orange County sells a kit that includes the compressor and mounting bracket. www.scottsind.com

Good luck.

I have a nippondenso for a 84 or later 911 that I am willing to sell for $150.00 plus shipping. I believe it is still set up for R12. For $200.00 plus shipping I throw in the three cans of R12. That I got with it when I brought the compressor.

I was going to convert my York to the nippondenso, but brought a Seiki compressor instead.

PM me if you are interested.
