Hanging a hood on a wall for safe storage

Hey everyone. I'm not sure how to safely store my spare hood in my garage. The hood is 100% perfect and I want to try to keep it that way, so I'd like to hang it high up on the wall between the windows (see picture).

Problem is, I don't know how to do that without the risk of it falling don and getting ruined, not to mention the risk to car under it. My plan is to hang it wit the leading edge downward so that it won't be visible through the windows.

Does anyone how to do this? Part of the issue is that I'd like to be able to pull it down when I feel like using it. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!

My thought: Go to Harbor Freight and buy one or two of their moving blankets. Wrap well, and lean against wall, resting on a 2x4.

No photo FYI.

Thanks. I have two young kids, two dogs, and 3 million neighbor kids running around, so to leave it where it could get body slammed and dented isn't going to let me feel peaceful. That's why I want to put it high up on the wall. Any other ideas? Thank you.

Don't see a picture - put a bolt in the hinge mounting holes on each side and do a 360 degree wrap around both with a strong cord or wire so it wont pull off the bolts. Hang like a picture - hooks in the wall should preclude the ability for the cord to pull off without significant lifting given the warranted paranoia

The bottom corners are the weak spot. Especially if they are resting on the corners and leaning up against the wall. You're better off laying them on the side. You can also take small squares of plywood drill a couple holes in them and bolt them into the hinge holes to protect the corners.

I used the hinge mounting points and attached metal straps with lots of holes. The other end of the metal straps attached to studs in the wall

A picture of your wall, window(s) and desired height (leading edge of the hood from floor) may help with other creative solutions. The hood is rather heavy, and lifting/hanging/removing would be best with two people.

You can also have it crated with plywood facing on both sides (to protect against curious children's prying/poking) and lay flat against wall.

I would suggest the same techniques others have, but use them to attach the kids to the wall.

Haven't done it, but I would use two short chains bolted on at the hinge holes and attached to hooks on studs.

Thanks everyone. I know I had a picture in here but don’t see it now. So here it is.

This hood with the driving lights?

The real question is how are you going to wire the lights? I suggest an old computer power supply for the 12v, and a motion sensor to switch.

I think I like the French Cleat idea. I have some TV wall hanging brackets left over from a move that might be useful. Thanks!
