Toolbag string

Does anyone know a source for a tool bag string for a 73.5 tool kit?

Looks like your average tennis shoe string.

'Course it could be baby harp seal gut, gummed by a toothless Eskimo woman. Sold by the inch in the TechArt catalog.

Failing that, you might try a yardage store, if such a thing still exists.

I have a cinch strap from Home Depot pulled around mine. Of course mine doesn't look anything like yours.

Try your local shoe repair person. They can be quite resourceful. Helped me recently with a back seat strap for my Beetle.

I was going to recommend steaming it so it's flat again, would possibly clean it up too. You might ask on the earlyS registry. There's a tool thread there with all sorts of info on these pre IB bags.
